Era Nocturna

what’s she doing now?

May 14th, 2008

I’ve been very lax with updating this blog but now that the site is set up I can push it a little more without constantly having to explain why my main site is 2 years behind the times. The “De Profundis” layout was a lovely success at the time but I’m trading in the stylistic layouts for a simple approach. People come to these sites for information on what prompted the formation, images, and then they want to know where to buy or steal the music from. The bases are covered in this case. In the future I may or may not put together a more dynamic site but for the time being the purpose is served.

The Era Nocturna machine has slowed down considerably in the last few weeks due to my little unfortunate experience with my health. As some may know I’ve suffered from some random issues ranging from headaches and dizziness to an overall feeling of malaise for quite some time. It all eventually came to a head when my heart went out of rhythm and I was hospitalized. The end result was me being diagnosed with an arrhythmia that I am now medicated for. Since medication is no fun, as I’ve stated in the past, I’ve opted to have a procedure to correct this issue. It’s not such a serious thing but dealing with that has taken up a lot of my time and my desire to record has been little to none. Understandably so. However, apart from some overdubs the album is pretty much done so I don’t foresee a delay. If there is one then I’m sure it will be a brief one.

In the meantime, I have decided to start up another project that has been opened to singers around the globe who have a desire to work with me but haven’t the means or resources to write their own music. I hear often that people wish they could do what I do and I thought why not give them the chance to try. It’s an experiment where you, whoever you are, have an opportunity to be in a band with me where I’m your engineer and you direct the vibe of the song. I think it could be interesting and fun. So… we’ll see where it goes. It could totally blow up in my face and fail miserably but I think that’s half the fun. :)

Until that all happens, I’d love for everyone to check out the artist Ink Dot Boy on MySpace. His work is amazing. Go listen and if you have a MySpace page (who doesn’t?) add him and spread the word.

That’s all for now. As always, tell your friends about my music too. That’s always helpful. ;)

Huzzah! Victory is mine!

Yes, just testing the whole process of this thing. Dae is a dork.

I think I’ll leave this up just for the amusement factor. HI EVERYONE! :-D

rock on!

Apparently if you are an avid Pepsi™ drinker you are able to buy music on Amazon.com using Pepsi™ points. So any of you who are strapped for cash, go collect some Pepsi™ points and use that to get yourself some tunes. Either mine or someone else’s. You can sugar overdose your way to a rock’n music collection.

And when I think of all the cans I’ve thrown into recycling without even checking this out… damn it.

You can get Era Nocturna music on Amazon.com here so get those cans and bottles and get yourself some tunes.

And yeah, I had to use the ™ just in case some corporate goblin stumbles upon this and threatens to sue me for referencing their company’s product incorrectly. May the powers forbid…

dawn of the new dae

February 18th, 2008

Yeah, so it’s a cheesy play on my name but honestly… cheese is something that I’m quite good at. Or was.

I’ve gone and deleted the old blog due to some technical difficulties that were preventing me from updating. I essentially had to completely destroy the entire database and then reinstall everything. Going back into the MySQL database thing was pretty easy. In fact, the entire process was a cinch for the most part. I think it was just tedious having to re-add all of the links that were deleted and the “About” and “FAQ” pages had to be rewritten. In the end it has worked out though and I’m pleased with the outcome.

As far as music-related business has gone… the remix contest is well underway and people are working hard on their contributions. This is the last week for people to sign up so I’ll be posting the invite a couple more times before Thursday in the hopes that I get just a few more as that makes it much more fun. I’m really excited with how all this is going. Especially after hearing one snippet from one of the guys working on this.

I spent the weekend away thinking about a great deal of things and I believe that I have a good, solid plan on where things will go from here after the big explosion that happened last week. I’m kind of lost still but… fuck it. That’s my new adage. Fuck it, fuck it all. I even said that as my hair was being cut off and I was watching my look go from Morticia Addams to Jyrki 69. Sometimes it’s good to change.
